How a Kilim Bench Is Made
Unlike our rugs, a kilim bench is a piece of furniture built in two stages. First, a solid wood frame is constructed in the required shape and size. Then, a foam cushion is fitted to the top of the frame and wrapped in a handwoven kilim textile, which is stretched and fixed into place by hand. The kilim fabric itself is made using the same flatweave technique used throughout our rug collection, giving each bench a genuinely one-of-a-kind woven top.
